Our Prayers and Squares ministry is run by Cheryl Johnson. We just completed our 125th and 126th quilt. When a person is very ill, with cancer or another long-term illness or injury, they or a family member may request a prayer quilt. Then Cheryl and the quilters make a beautiful quilt. It has small threads hanging off the top of the quilt. During our Sunday morning service, Pastor Taek blesses the quilt and everyone is invited forward to say a prayer and tie a small knot in the threads. The quilt is then given to the reciepient. This ministry has truly been a blessing to many in our community. Many of our quilts go to people who don't attend our church. This is one way we are Christ's hands here on Earth.
