Meet the Pastor
Ruth Burgess began her ministry at Wallace Memorial July 1, 1997.  Prior to this time she served other United Methodist churches in both Virginia and Pennsylvania, including NewBethel-Motley, Fredericksburg, Braddock Street, and Sweet Valley.  She is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania (B.A., religious studies, summa cum laude), and Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. (M.Div., summa cum laude).  In addition to these studies, Ruth has pursued extensive research in the fields of religion and literature at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia and elementary education at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Ruth also enjoys music.  When she is not leading worship from the pulpit she can often be found either singing or playing any one of several instruments including the piano, guitar, and recorder.
