HOW TO BECOME SPIRITUALLY COMPLIANT WITH GOD'S WILL AND HOW TO BEGIN LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS
A PRAYER TO PRAY TO RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST
A Message From The Pastor
Thank you taking the time to view the Wagram UMC web page! We deeply appreciate your interest. We are a Christian congregation, part of the Church of God, the Church of the LORD Jesus Christ. Biblically, the Wagram UMC is a body of Christian believers who are part of the body of the LORD Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 12) The LORD Jesus Christ is our Head. He is our foundation upon Whom we seek to build. (1 Corinthians 3:11) We believe the Holy Bible is the God breathed word of God. ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17) Therefore, we believe the Holy Scriptures have the very life of God inherently within them. Though the LORD God used human instruments, we believe that the LORD Jesus Christ is the Author of all Holy Scripture through His Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20-21). As a result, we believe that the Holy Scriptures are the final authority regarding all matters pertaining to this life and eternity. (Psalms 119:96)
We believe that everyone must be born of the Holy Spirit in order to enter the Kingdom of God. (John 3) This wonderful experience of being born anew becomes a reality when a person admits their failure to live according to God's commandments, turns away from sin and turns in faith to Jesus Christ trusting in His atoning death and bodily resurrection as the sole means of their salvation. We believe that every sin is a violation of one or more of the Ten Commandments found in Exodus chapter 20 and Deuteronomy chapter 5 of the Holy Bible. We believe in the LORD God's sanctifying grace whereby the LORD God sets the believer apart as His very own. We believe in the purifying presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Christian believer who yields to the Holy Spirit's control. (Acts 15:8-9) We believe that the experience and reality of being filled with the Holy Spirit is for every Christian believer. (Ephesians 5:17-21) In fact we believe that the Christian believer needs to be filled with the Holy Spirit in order to fully appreciate and enjoy the blessings of the Kingdom of God and to live faithfully for the LORD Jesus Christ. (Galatians 5:16-26) We believe the Bible clearly teaches that the saved will enjoy eternal bliss with the LORD Jesus Christ and that the lost will suffer eternal punishment with the Devil and his angels. (Luke 16:19-31; Matthew 5:29-30, 7:21-23, 25:31-46; Mark 16:16; John 3:16-18, 36, 14:1-6; Revelation 20:10-15, 21:1-8). We believe in the literal second coming of our LORD Jesus Christ. (John 14:1-6; Acts 1:8; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Matthew 24-25)
The constant goal toward which we move as a church body is to provide a place where persons can experience God's forgiving, healing, transforming grace provided by the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, thus be brought into fellowship with Jesus Christ, and enjoy warm and wholesome fellowship as a body of believers. (Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 10:19-25) We desire to be of help to those who are hurting. In fact, in many ways we are a group of broken people who have found the LORD Jesus Christ to be the answer to the hurts, troubles, disappointments, uncertainities, and discouragements of this life. (Psalms 34:1-22)
The Wagram UMC has been and is a missions minded congregation both locally and beyond the local community. (Matthew 25:31-46, 28:18-20) The congregation supports Heartbeats of Licking County, Licking County Jail Ministry, Faith Mission in Columbus and mission work in other countries. The Wagram UMC is a "Jesus Video Church" helping to distribute the "Jesus Video". An ongoing clothing ministry provides clothing for the needy locally, for Henderson Settlement and Red Bird Mission in Kentucky, and internationally in the country of Zambia. The Sewing Bees meet regularly to work on various items which they donate in the name of the LORD Jesus Christ to missions work and organizations seeking to help those in need.
With the LORD Jesus Christ as our Savior and LORD we seek to live out our commitment to the LORDSHIP of Jesus Christ by being a worshipping, praying, praising, sharing, visiting, witnessing, giving, teaching, fellowshipping, and caring body of believers. (Acts 2:41-47) As we seek to respond to physical and spiritual need, our desire is to be empowered by the Holy Spirit and motivated by the love of Jesus Christ.
We would like to invite you to be a part of the Wagram UMC congregation! On this web page you will find a schedule of our regular services and activities.
