HOSPICE MEMORIAL SERVICE: Thursday October 6 @ 7PM. Hospice of Michigan invites you to join them for their Memorial Service- an evening of readings, music and reflection in honor of your loved ones who have died. This service is open to anyone in the community and is being held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 134 N. Division, Grand Rapids. (on Division at Pearl). For questions or to register, call 356-5258.
FAMILY -STYLE PORK & BEEF DINNER, Oct 12 @ 5:30PM:
On Wednesday, October 12, Snow United Methodist Church will serve a Family-style Pork & Beef dinner, beginning at 5:30 PM. Adults $8, ages 5-12 $2.
GOODIE BOX BEING PREPARED FOR SERVICEMAN, DAVID WENKLE: Otto and Vivian Lind's son-in-law has just been shipped over to Iraq for a 7 month tour and a goodie box is being prepared for him. We are collecting any of the following items: magazines [Health, Car, Sports, Readers Digest, etc.], whitening toothpaste, acne medicine, face moisturizer, shower soap, gum, candy, granola bars, health bars, boxed cookies, crackers, Pringles and other canister style snacks, microwave popcorn, Mac & Cheese, Hormel pasta bowls, cards and letters of encouragement, and most of all our prayers. Donations may be dropped off here at the church any time. We will send them as we fill a box. Anything we send him will be shared and passed around with the other service personnel. Let's give them an expression of our gratitude.

Matters of Prayer, Thanksgiving & Celebrations:
· Blessing over our 40 Days of Community which begins next Sunday [Oct. 9 ~ Nov. 20]. Pray that God will raise 16 small groups here during the 40 DAYS OF COMMUNITY and pray that the Vergennes church will make a positive impact upon this community for Jesus Christ! Ask God to bless Ed Yahrmarkt & Mark Ismond as they co-direct this special church-wide campaign.
· Comfort for Scott Jernberg in the sudden death of his mother last week.
· Healing for Rev. Vance Dimmick recovering at home after major pulmonary embolism. Vance was interim pastor here at Vergennes during the summer of 1996.
· Healing & comfort for Susan Fizer's mother, Jocille Dickinson, who suffered a stroke.
· Safety for Otto and Vivian Lind's grandson, David Wenkle, who is serving in Iraq.
· Safety during hunting season this fall and specifically bow season starting yesterday.
