He is Risen!

He is Risen, indeed!

Alleluia!

It was a joy to celebrate Easter with you!  We owe a special thanks to the Youth Group for a wonderful Sunrise Service on a very cold Easter morning and to the UMM for a hearty breakfast.  I also want to thank the children for helping us celebrate Palm Sunday and Easter with their joyous processions.  We have it on good authority that if you want to enter the kingdom you must become as a little child, (that is why I wanted to be part of the procession).   Joy is the mark of Christians because we know Jesus' story has the happiest of endings.  When we become part of his story we can begin to believe that in spite of sorrow and pain we too will experience a happy ending-- which is a new beginning.

Easter points out that in this life God offers us many opportunities for new beginnings.  Jesus' death and resurrection was the beginning of a new age.  With the new age came the gift of the Spirit and the ongoing adventure of life transformed from glory to glory.  Not only do  people get the opportunity of new beginnings in Christ but so do churches.  I believe God is offering us a Vanderburg UMC a chance at a new beginning.  I'm excited by the energy I feel in worship, at family night suppers, and in our meeting together.  God opens up all kinds of  possibilities with the faith and joy of children

Peace and Joy
