Valley View Ministry Teams
Valley View has numerous ministry teams that work together to meet a variety of needs within the church and the community. These teams welcome new members who would like to contribute their talents.
The Valley View teams include: Christian Community; Education; Missions; Marketing; Worship; Youth Council; Prayer; and Scholarship. Information is available for teams that are underlined in blue. Information concerning the other teams can be obtained by contacting the church.
- serves lunch for church conferences;
- sell hot dogs, cookies, hot chocolate, and coffee during the Light Parade to raise money;
- send care packages to service personnel and college students;
- serve cake, cookies, punch for special events at the church;
- they are in charge of the 5th Sunday pot luck meal;
- serve meals each day during Vacation Bible School;
- Host potluck celebrations for those long time members who are moving;
- and host the Pastor Appreciation social honoring Dennis and Dee Dee.
- coordinates the children's Sunday School classes during both services;
- the adult Sunday School classes;
- the confirmation classes; Vacation Bible School;
- youth group activities;
- youth participating in the worship services and caring for children in the nursery;
- and work to update the youth room.
Local Missions National Missions Amigos del Valle - for older people who want to remain independent Make-A-Wish Foundation with a special offering Backpack ministry of food for 22 students in three schools Pediatric Brain Tumor Fund with a special meal and donations Crisis Center of Northern New Mexico helping families of domestic violence Souper Bowl to help feed hungry in our community Educational scholarships to deserving members of the congregation Global Missions Food pantry to help local residents in need Bill and Jerri Savuto, UM missionaries in Kenya McCurdy School through collection of soup labels, box tops, and financial offerings Fair-Trade coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for sale to the congregation Help homeless with the Pennies Fund Heifer Project Sewciables who make quilts for newborns and those who are ill. Malaria Initiatives United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) with One Great Hour of Sharing offering and special contributions for UMCOR projects
