Opportunities for Spiritual Growth

Valley View UMC offers many opportunities
for spiritual growth and development. Some of these include:
Children's Sunday School is held for
children 4 - 11 years old during each of the worship services. Children
have the opportunity to learn Bible stories and discover the importance
of being kind, loving, forgiving, helpful, and trusting Jesus.
Adult
Sunday School classes
meet between the two church services at 9:30 am. They deal with issues
of personal growth and development.
Brown Bag Bible Study
is held every other Thursday evening. People bring their supper and
eat and study the Bible together.
United
Methodist Women (UMW)
is a part of a national organization
whose purpose is to know God, experience Jesus Christ, develop a creative,
supportive fellowship for personal development, and support the global
ministries of the church.
United Methodist
Men
meet on the first Wednesday morning of each month, focusing on faith
in action. The group eats, laughs, works, and shares their faith in
Christ.
Street
People Ministry provides money/gift
certificates, along with personal care and concern to street people
in the area who are know to have needs.
Prayer
Tree is a group who pray for special needs of the church, individuals,
the community, the nation, and the world.
Volunteer
Work is available for people to grow as they reach out to others.
Some of the projects that use volunteers are: McCurdy
School, Amigos
del Valle,Crisis
Center of Northern New Mexico,
Sewciables,
and Back
Packs of Food.
