Children's
Sunday School
A Sunday School time is held for children
4 - 11 years old during each of the worship services. The children
attend church until immediately after the Children's Sermon. A
teacher takes them to Sunday School as soon as the children's
sermon is over.
Children have the opportunity to learn
Bible stories and discover the importance of being kind, loving,
forgiving, helpful, and trusting Jesus. |

| Snackpacks
for School Children
The members of Valley View
UMC are providing backpacks with imperishable food each week during
the school year for elementary children who would have no food
to eat on the weekends.
These snackpacks go to students in schools in the communities
of Hernandez, San Juan, and Chimayo. Various family conditions
have created the need for helping these children have food during
the weekends. The school lunch programs provide meals during the
school week.
This new school year we will be starting with 20 snackpacks a
week. This program has been a great success because of all the
help from the members of Valley View UMC.
If you would like to contribute to the
backpack ministry, please bring individual servings of:
| Canned meat |
Granola bars |
| Canned vegetables |
Breakfast bars |
| Cereal |
Cookies |
| Peanuts |
Trail mix |
| Fruit |
Crackers |
| Apple sauce |

Children's
Sermon
Each Sunday, early in the service, there
is a special sermon given for children in the congregation. The
children come up to the front and listen to/participate in the
special sermon. After the Children's Sermon, the children go to
Sunday School.

| Project
Carino
Today's society has created new problems
for children of all ages. Through Project Carino, McCurdy provides
a school-based mental health program by funding licensed, professional
counselors to provide spiritually-rooted counseling for the healthy
development of its students. The project began in 1984 through
the United Methodist Women's Call to Prayer and Self-Denial Offering
and continues to serve the staff and students.
Valley View helps support this program. |
