Annual Church Events

Celebration of Communion
Valley View celebrates communion on the first Sunday of each month. Communion is open to all those who profess Christ. Communion is also celebrated Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday.

Christmas Special Musical
Each year Valley View members join in a Christmas program with special music and a pageant. This is a wonderful experience and reminds us of the true meaning of the Christmas season.

Lenten Services
This special season begins with two Ash Wednesday services--the 12:00 noon service and the 7:00 pm service.

Christmas Caroling
Members of Valley View come together to go caroling on a Sunday evening in December.
Palm Sunday
Valley View emphasizes the triumphal entry into Jerusalem with palm branches.
Christmas Eve Service
Valley view celebrates Christmas Eve with special music and communion.

Maundy Thursday
Valley View has a traditional Jewish Seder Meal in the Fellowship Hall to celebrate Christ's last supper.

Church Decorating
On the Saturday before the first Sunday in Advent, members gather to decorate the church for the Christmas season. The decorations are taken down the weekend after the new year.

Good Friday Service
There is an evening service at Valley View on Good Friday.

Vacation Bible School
The annual VBS is usually conducted during the second week of July. Children ages 3 through 11 are welcome to come and enjoy the Bible lessons, field trips, fun, and fellowship of Bible School.
Easter Mourning
Valley View joins other Christian churches at Santa Cruz Lake Lookout to celebrate a sunrise service. After the early service at the church, there is a shared Easter breakfast. After both services there is an Easter egg hunt for the children.
Rose Garden on Mother's Day
On Mother's Day, new rose bushes are added to the rose garden located near the entrance to the sanctuary. Each new bush represents a celebration for a child born into the church family during the previous year. Families are urged to cut roses and to remind their children that their rose bush is a reminder of God's love for them.
English Tea and Fashion Show
Each fall the United Methodist Women sponsor a Tea and Fashion Show in the Fellowship Hall to benefit the Crisis Center and Community Soup Kitchen.
Semi-annual Clean Up Days
In the spring and again in the fall the church Board of Trustees sponsors clean-up days. Members are encouraged to come help with general clean-up work and needed maintenance and repair.
