Rev. Karen J.
Sandoval, Chair
A second-career pastor, Karen has served in all sorts of ministry settings
throughout the U.S.
She is now serving the South Boston area of Virginia and has been
chairing the committee since 2003. She brings deep sensitivity to Native
American concerns of all sorts. Our community has already been blessed by her

Mr. Steven Bass
Steven Bass is a member of the Nansemond tribe, which is centered in Portsmouth, VA.
Steve is often called upon to speak on behalf of our Native American
Ministries Committee. He has wonderful personal testimonies of the difference
that the United
Methodist Church

Rev. Larry Jent
Larry Jent has been an elder in the United Methodist
Church for 20 years,
and has been involved in Native American ministries throughout the U.S. He moved
to Virginia
in 2001 and now serves as Associate Director of Communications for the
Virginia Conference. He is the conference staff liaison to this committee. In
addition to his work with the United
Methodist Church
he is currently serving as adjunct professor of humanities at Virginia Western Community College,
where he teaches Biblical Literature and Native American Spirituality. You

Chief G. Anne
Richardson
Chief Anne is the leader of the Rappahannock tribe near Tappahannock, VA.
She is also one of the most eloquent and inspiring leaders among the Virginia
Native American communities. From the state legislature to the U.S. capitol
her leadership is well-known. You may find her leading an international
gathering or working in a local clothes pantry--no task is too big or too
