Join us in making a joyful noise to the Lord!Methodists have long been known for their singing and music. But even among Methodists, we are known for making a joyful noise unto the Lord! In fact, one of our former pastors, Dr. Leon Adkins wrote the hymn, "Go Make of All Disciples" which appears in the Methodist Hymnal. It's easy to find a musical home at University United Methodist Church! Some of us sing - as members of the congregation, the Senior Choir, the Disciples Youth Choir, or the Junior Choir. Some of us play instruments - as members of our own orchestra or in our handbell/handchime choir. And - just as important - some of listen appreciatively!Daily devotionals for children, teens, and adultsDid you know that there is a daily devotional from the Upper Room? Check it out! You can also subscribe for a free email copy of the daily devotional. For teens, there is Devo'zine, a version of the Upper Room with topics of interest to teens. There's also an online version of Pockets, the devotional magazine for children 6-12 years old (and their parents). The Alive Now magazine helps small groups and individuals find Christian meaning in their lives as they face challenges at home, at work, and in the community. The online version has a weekly scripture focus and a weekly discussion question. This innovative, devotional magazine explores contemporary issues from a faith perspective, encourages spiritual growth, and revitalizes your faith. Each thematic issue is divided into weekly sections that include inspirational stories, meditations, poems, prayers, quotes, scripture readings, and reflection questions. |
