Our church building is inspiring
The University Church sanctuary, dedicated in 1921, was designed by
Professors Revel and Lear of Syracuse University School of Architecture.

Our sanctuary
Pulpit and altar
We are using the pulpit salvaged from the original sanctuary which
burned down in February of 1914.
Windows
Our stained glass windows were crafted by the William J. Pike Stained
Glass Company of Rochester, N.Y. The special quality of glass used
admits the proper amount of light to illuminate the inspiring English
Gothic style of the sanctuary.
Musical instruments
The most visible part of our music program is the magnificent pipe
organ, which sits in the rear loft. The organ was a gift form the
Anthony family in conjunction with the 100th anniversary celebration in
1969. It was dedicated on March 15, 1970. Manufactured by the
Casavant Organ Company, it was designed specifically for our sanctuary
to make best use of the acoustic space. It contains 2902 pipes.
In the front loft sits the Yamaha Grand Piano. It was a gift from
Betty Christen in 1982. The Sabathil harpsichord was a gift from Walter and Joanne
Zinsmeister in 1984. The Schulmerich Handbells were a gift from the Iles family in 1984.
We recently acquired a set of handchimes - a gift from the Wes and
Ginny Knight.
The Ruth Stafford Peale Entrance
The Ruth Stafford Peale entrance is on the University Ave. side of
the church and serves as our primary entrance.
Our grounds
Being in an urban setting, we don't have a lot of land, but what we
lack in size, we make up for in beauty.
