About Union Village United Methodist Church

You are welcome at Union Village United Methodist Church. This is a caring community of persons who are deeply concerned for all of God’s creation and for each other. Wherever you are in your faith journey, there is a place for you at Union Village United Methodist Church.

Our History

The Union Village United Methodist Church was begun by a group of early settlers, who, inspired by a camp meeting on Wolf Hill in 1824, met together for prayer in the home of Joseph Tucker. A meeting house was built at the crossroads, and dedicated December 18, 1825. In 1907 the church was closed and sold to Dr. W. F. Johnson who decided to have it reopened. An annex to the church was built in 1940. The church grew so rapidly that the present Education building was erected on a nearby site in 1955. A Sanctuary was added in 1961.

Our Mission

We, the Union Village United Methodist Church, are a community of Christians living under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We are a redeemed fellowship in which the Word of God is preached, and the sacraments duly administered. Under the direction and the discipline of the Holy Spirit, we provide for the worship of God, and the spiritual growth of children, youth and adults. Through caring ministries within and beyond the parish setting we are witnesses to the Living Christ for the redemption of the world. Alleluia, Amen!

What We Believe

We believe that in Jesus Christ, God has made known to us the way of life. We believe that all persons are loved by God, and that in Jesus Christ, all are invited to respond to God’s Grace.

Ministry Opportunities

Some of the various ministry opportunities we offer are:

Sunday School

Our Sunday School is a fun place for children to learn about God’s love and grow in their faith. Children and youth find Christ in the world and one another through singing, Bible study, crafts, sharing and friendships.

Special programs are offered to promote hands on learning and faith sharing. These programs include:

Bible Study

Periodically, a Series of Study is offered on the books of the Bible. Theme studies are available during special liturgical seasons such as Lent.
Weekly Bible Study provides support in our own faith journeys and enables us to become disciples of Jesus Christ

Union Village United Methodist Church is a welcoming congregation and affirms its ministry with the whole family of God regardless of age, race, ethnic origin, gender, economic situation, marital status, or sexual orientation.

Union Village United Methodist Church believes its diversity is a blessing through which persons are strengthened to serve.
