Methodists love to gather together to eat! We also love to celebrate special events in the lives of our church family! After the 10:30 AM Worship Service each week we have an opportunity to greet each other, chat, catch up with friends, and have a cup of coffee, tea, or juice and some other light treat.
The United Methodist Men (UMM) support Union Village Church by helping to maintain the buildings and grounds. Funds are raised through an annual Roadside Chicken BBQ and providing food at the Fall Fair. The UMM meet on the first Saturday of each month for breakfast prepared by the men, followed by an informal meeting to discuss maintenance projects or other topics concerning Union Village.
All women of Union Village Church are invited to join this special caring fellowship. Through annual pledging and rummage sale profits, the United Methodist Women (UMW) are able to support outreach programs of the Methodist Church and six local missions. Members are committed to providing a spiritual, educational and supportive community for each other. There are both church wide UMW general meetings and four smaller circles; two circles meet in the evening, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Circle programs include book reviews, bible study, crafts, local trips and, most of all, fellowship.
This informal group is open to all retired men of the communities served by Union Village. The men meet for lunch on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Individuals bring a bag lunch, coffee and dessert are provided for a nominal fee. Lunch is followed by any one of a number of activities: discussion of current issues, viewing an interesting video, guest speakers, light maintenance work, or just reminiscing and enjoying each others company.
The Wednesday Group is an informal small group of United Methodist Women. It is open to all women of the communities served by Union Village United Methodist Church. All are welcome to join us on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:00 AM. Bring a sandwich and a project. We have those who crochet, knit, stitch - any portable project. We may even undertake special projects from time to time. This is very much a fellowship group and guests / new members are welcome and encouraged. We have dessert and beverages available and are glad to have new projects introduced. Please come! We meet in the Quilting Room downstairs.
