 Children at Sunday School

Sunday School
Our Sunday School is a fun place for children to learn about God's love and grow in their faith.  Here, children find Christ in the world and one another through singing, Bible study, crafts, sharing, and friendships.  Special programs are offered to promote hands on learning and faith sharing.  These programs include:

  • Intergenerational Worship where children are an active part of the service

  • Children's mission program

Bible Study
Study is offered on the books of the Bible in two different formats.  First, a book of the Bible is studied in depth over a period of 6 to 8 weeks.  Each week, members of the class meet for a two hour period.  Class members are encouraged to share insights, apply what they learn to their lives, and learn to pray together.   Weekly Bible Study provides support in our own faith journeys and enables us to become disciples of Christ.   The second format  is theme studies which are offered during special seasons.  For example, studying Luke during the Christmas season to better understand the birth of Christ.
Women serving homemade soup during lent Lenten Soup Suppers
Starting at 6:30pm on most Wednesdays during Lent, "soup is on" at Union Village.  Participants can choose from three homemade soups and a variety of homemade deserts.  Immediately following the supper, a video of Biblical significance is shown followed by a discussion.  The focus of the most recent Lenten soup suppers was "Following in Jesus Footsteps".  All are invited to attend this annual Lenten event at Union Village.
Vacation Bible School

Held for one week in July, from 9:00am to noon, Vacation Bible School provides our children a concentrated time of learning God's love.  The staff strives to create an atmosphere of learning and fun for the neighborhood children from age 4 years through those who are entering the fifth grade.  Activities include stories, theater, games, crafts, snacks, skits and singing.  Registration forms are available starting in May and can be obtained by calling the church office.
