Twick Morrison Charter Club MISSISSIPPI CONFERENCE UMW TWICK MORRISON CHARTER CLUB All UMW units are invited to join!!!! ....”You shall love the Lord your God with all your strength, and with all your mind; and you neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27 Love God and love neighbor. This is what Jesus tells the rich young ruler he must do to inherit eternal life. Then Jesus tells the story of the Good Samaritan. All United Methodist Women believe that we should love our neighbors, but we must look at ourselves to uncover learned prejudices. We must look at church and society to see how racism has been institutionalized. We must change ourselves. And we must join hands in working to end racism. To facilitate our work in ending racism, each UMW unit should join the Twick Morrison Charter Club. This will encourage further study and implementation of the Charter for Racial Justice Policies. Criteria for membership are listed on the adjoining page. To become a member you must complete at least four items on the list (two from each category), complete the form, and mail it to Jackie Pennington by August 1, 2010. To remain a member of the Twick Morrison Charter Club you must fulfill one additional requirement in each category each year. If membership lapses, a unit must start over by meeting four criteria. Units who meet the requirements for membership in the Twick Morrison Charter Club will receive a certificate. How many units will we recognize at Annual Meeting? Will yours be one of them? As long as I knew her, Twick Morrison was engaged in the elimination of racism. Let us follow in her footsteps. Be a charter member of the Charter Club!
