Purpose The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through
Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
This is the day that the Lord has made! Let us give thanks for each and every one, for they go so quickly. We spent a year looking forward to the United Methodist Women's Assembly and now it is past. For me the event is past but the experience will be a part of me for the rest of my days. Approximately 50 women from Mississippi attended participating in extraordinary worship, hearing informative speakers, attending workshops, deciding which of the many things to do in the Experience Hall, and connecting by video conference with United Methodist Women around the world. Looking forward we anticipate Annual Conference, the School of Christian Mission, and Annual Meeting. Be sure to visit the UMW display and pick up a registration form for the School and Annual Meeting. The theme for the School of Christian Mission is Faith, Hope, Love in Action and the studies are For the Love of God: John's Letters, Joy to the World: Mission in the Age of Global Christianity, and The Sudan.
