METOUR—2007

Erica Arb, Youth Activities Coordinator for the Conference, reminds all units that the METour will take place on June 3rd through 13th. The girls will be headed toward the Rocky Mountains. They will visit Yellowstone Park and the Black Hills Rosebud Reservation. The information about the tour should have already been sent to each church. If it has not or you have a girl interested and don't have the information, please email her at teaarb@yahoo.com or contact your district Youth Activities chairman. The girls' applications are due to the district Youth Activities Chair by March 25th. Participants will be chosen by April 15th.

NOW is the time to be recruiting girls before their summer schedules fill up. Please, do all you can to support your girl. If your UMW can't financially support a recruit or you do not have a recruit partner up with another church. This will help us unite as units. Remember, we are not an idividual UMW circle or even a General church UMW group, we are united in the same purpose— to bring more women to Christ. This starts by reaching out to our younger women and teenagers. The METour experience is lifehanging. These girls come home on fire for the Lord. The problem is they need support from all of us—, someone to keep fanning the flame of UMW.

An effort is being made this year to include many more churches and units and circles in the METour. The METour prayer partners are a way to do that. Whole churches—not just one officer or the girls' home church—are being asked to participate as prayer partners. One UMW circle is already planning a special card making party for the METour girls.

You are a vibrant, creative group of women, you can find a way to reach out to our METour girls and make sure they are involved in UMW for more than10 days. Contact Erica at teaarb@yahoo.com if you need help.

What can your circle do?

•    Bake cookies or treats?

•    Send prayer journals or care packages?

•   Take a trip to Wichita for the homecoming?

•    Send birthday cards during the year?
