Spiritual Growth

"Again, I assure you: If two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three gathered together in My name, I am there among them." (Matthew 18:19)

When you are asked to say a prayer in public, does it make you uncomfortable?" I must confess it does me. It seems others who pray in public sound better and they have their prayer life put together. In the above scripture Jesus is teaching His disciples about the life and work of His church. In other words, when we pray about things for His Kingdom’s purposes, we can have what we ask in agreement. We can pray for wisdom to His people which in turn can build spiritual growth and salvation.

It seems lately so many of my friends are dealing with cancer. I belong to an extension homemaker group; one of our members is dealing with a form of cancer where there is no cure. We are praying for a miracle as she is leaving for Houston, Texas to be given a trial medication with hopes there will be healing.

The question remains will our prayers be answered for a complete recovery. We must be consistent to pray for someone; even if only for a few minutes on a daily basis. But still, the correct way to pray would be "Father, bring healing to Barbara according to Your will."

Prayer: Loving God, Thank You for always being present in our life. Grant us wisdom and compassion to those who are ill, hungry and lonely. May you inspire us to assist in any way that is needed. We ask this in your Son Jesus’ name. Amen
