2008 CONFERENCE GOALS


      1.     The Conference will meet its pledge of $335,000.

      2.     All Conference mission team members will be urged to subscribe                   to and use Response and New World Outlook.

      3.     Conference team members expected to attend School of Christian               Mission and/or a mission event.

      4.     Sixty percent of the local units in each District will qualify as a                       Mission Today Unit.

      5.     Each District shall participate in mission to persons incarcerated and               their families.

      6.     Each District shall be represented by at least four members at the                   Legislative Event in Topeka.

      7.     At least 200 adults, 20 children, and 20 youth will attend Schools of               Christian Mission.

      8.     The Conference will provide a mission education tour (METour) for               40 young women and six sponsors.

      9.     Each district will appoint three women, as directed by standing rules               DIO to serve on the consultative group.

    10.     Every Mission Team member and every person who works with                       children, youth or disabled adults in Conference or District United                   Methodist Women sponsored events shall be trained and certified                   by the Boundary Awareness Task Force of the Kansas West                           Conference United Methodist Church.





Purpose

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
