Balt/Washington Conference-- A conference wide Volunteers in Mission event will be held at the Conference Center Saturday, Oct. 4. Gathering and registration is at 9 a.m. Worship, rally, speakers and testimonies will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Team leaders training will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Lunch will be served. There is no charge for the event but registration is necessary to plan for the food, for which a free will offering will be taken. East PA Conf. ERT training- Saturday, October 18 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at First United Methodist Church
Lansdale. Cost will be $20 per person which will include lunch and all materials. Early Response Teams are the
folks who go in right after the emergency phase of a disaster to muck out homes, remove wet drywall and
insulation, cut up downed trees and so on. They often need to be totally self-sufficient, taking care of their own
meals and transportation into and out of the affected area. Training is mandatory in order to participate on one of
