The United Methodist Church in Russia
is growing. Russian congregations need pastors, especially well-trained
pastors. The seminary is the one investment that assures the continuation
and future of the United Methodist ministry in Russia.
Course of Study
Students follow a course of study including classes in theology,
New Testament, Old Testament, history of Christianity, ethics,
pastoral care, United Methodist polity, religious education and
Greek. Most courses are taught by visiting professors from the
U.S., Europe or Korea. To qualify to teach at the seminary, a
professor must be faculty at a UM seminary or be a United Methodist
teaching at a seminary, university or college.
"Russian pastors must have a vital
faith grounded in sound theological knowledge because the
highly educated Russian population critically examines gospel
claims."

"I trust that solutions [to our financial
difficulties] will be found and the Russia United Methodist
Seminary be given the future it needs as the only United
Methodist seminary for a whole continent and a people of
150 million."
