UMC.org Independent Music Review
Thousands of undiscovered Christian musicians are hard at work, all in the hope that their original music will reach and minister to an audience of believers. UMC.org, the official online ministry of The United Methodist Church, wants to reward the independent spirit by providing a means for new music to be exposed. We also desire to serve our site visitors by informing them of a variety of enjoyable and edifying recordings that they might not otherwise hear. To that end, we are now accepting submissions of original, full-length CDs of Christian-themed music for review.
If an artist’s release is chosen for review, their CD will be featured on the site for two weeks, then archived for future reference. Reviews include album cover artwork, audio bites of selected songs and a critical assessment of the CD. UMC.org will choose releases based on overall musicianship and song quality, as well as spiritual and social relevance. Due to our strict selection process, not all submitted CDs will be chosen for review. CDs will only be considered for review – UMC.org is not responsible for the promotion of a selected CD, musician or group.
Christian musicians whose work is not owned or distributed nationally by a major label are invited to submit by mail their full-length release in CD format. Releases must be available for sale online to be eligible. All music styles are welcome. Submissions will not be returned.
