at church of the pines...

We offer everyone an opportunity to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ and to grow in a committed relationship to God. We are a church for all ages, but we think young.

children are important . . .

We offer children the gifts of love, acceptance, and participation. Children learn about the love of God in their Sunday School classes. Younger children participate in Time for Children during worship. Children are asked to participate in worship as acolytes or with special music. Kids' Company provides an opportunity for children to learn to act in Christian dramas presented to the church and community.

so are youth . . .

Our youth participate in Sunday School, worship, and one of two weekly youth group meetings. Students participate in our Puppet Ministry. Students are invited to sing or play with our Solid Rock Praise Band at our Saturday evening "Church that Rocks" contemorary worship service. We plan monthly special events and summer mission trips for G.R.O.W. and IMPACT. Ninth graders are mentored in our confirmation ministry.

so are adults . . .

We offer Sunday School classes, weekly Bible studies, small group meetings, fellowship events, and opportunities to serve and grow. You are invited to join us for a Habitat for Humanity building project or to help with food distribution at the Food Pantry.

everyone matters . . .

We support each other in prayer. We celebrate each other's joys. We bear each other's burdens. We challenge each other to grow and mature in our faith. We enjoy gathering together as God's people for worship, work, and fellowship. We try to put a face on God's love. Why? Because everyone matters.

"Rooted in Christ - Growing in Faith" Capital Campaign

At Church of the Pines we are in the midst of a great adventure in faith. We are following God's vision for our congregation and expanding our church building so we can improve our ministries and expand our outreach.

On May 4, we kicked off our capital campaign with an inspiring service conducted in the commons of Lakeland Union High School. That weekend all three services met together in one service.

The service included music from our praise band, our chancel choir, and our Sunday School Kids Choir. We watched a video of some of our members sharing how important Jesus hasbeen in their lives and other sharing how they have grown in their faith through the ministries of Church of the Pines. Pastor Gary shared an inspirational message. We also had a presentation by Lenore Giesthadt on different ways of contributing to the capital campaign. All in attendance received a "goodie" box with information about the campaign and the building project.

Dan Lathrop reviewed the building committee's plans and set us a goal of raising $1.6 million. That figure includes the estimated $1.25 million needed to construct the addition, a 10% contingency fund, and all the furnishings and equipment we will need, such as a sound and video system, new kitchen appliances, tables, chairs, etc.
