Community Involvement and Outreach

The Outreach Committee is continuing to collect food items for the EFS and will do so throughout the year. We have been collecting food items beginning with letters of the alphabet. We are at the end of the alphabet now so for the weeks of July we are collecting food items beginning with S T U and V. For August it is X, Y and Z. GOOD LUCK WITH AUGUST. As always, ANY ITEMS are certainly appreciated by the EFS. All donations are delivered to the EFS and the end of each month.

We continue to collect Big Y coins for the EFS and L&F. If you have any coins you want to donate, please drop them in the decorated can in the narthex.

The OUTREACH COMMITTEE will be making lunches for the ERfC summer program on Tuesday, July 28th, for the children who will be participating in this program.

The Outreach Committee will be preparing the Loaves & Fishes meal on September 13th. Please try to be there to help our committee out.

We will be collecting school supplies for the Enfield Neighborhood Services Back to School Fundraiser. All of these items will be delivered at the end of August. Please bring your donations to the church during the summer months.

CHRISTMAS WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT. As always we will be collecting gifts for our Social Services family/families, the prison ministry, small gifts for the L&F guests, and new or gently used items for the ERfC. If you are cleaning out some things during the summer and they are gently used or new items that the ERfC children can choose and give to their family, please save them for our Christmas collections.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VERY GENEROUS HEARTS.
Sincerely,
The Outreach Committee

Our Prayer Shawl Ministry

Our Wednesday morning Women's Bible Study has started a prayer shawl ministry. As we study God's word, we knit or crochet shawls which are crafted with love and prayed over by each of us before being blessed by our Pastor. Finally our shawls are given to those ailing either physically or spiritually, each one giving the recipient a hug from God.

With each shawl given, we include a tag like this one.

For more information on our Prayer Shawl Ministry, please see Reverend John or Candy Morgans.

Our other outreach programs include:
  • The Enfield Food Shelf
  • Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen
  • NADA
  • Educational Resources for Children
