Education Committee

The education committee strives to provide Christian education to the youth of the U.M.C.E. in a loving and nurturing manner. The impact of Christian education upon our youth will come from two sources: one source is the quality curriculums and the other source is the faith and witness that our teachers bring to the classroom. As the teachers nurture the growth of Christian faith in our youth, we nurture our own faith. In addition, we have the honor of presenting a Bible to our graduating grade 3 students to provide them with a reminder of God’s Love and guidance.

Currently we offer four classes:

• Ages 3 - 5
• Grades 1 - 3
• Grades 4 - 6
• JR/SR High

Classes are held Sunday A.M. beginning approximately 10:30 after the scripture reading.

On the first Sunday of the month, youth in grades 4 and above are invited to worship in the sanctuary with their parents or guardians. Youth in grades K - 3 are dismissed after communion to their combined class for First Sunday Childrens’ Worship.

There are no classes on special holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Youth are invited to worship with our congregation.

Teachers and their classes remain in the sanctuary for special events, such as baptisms, skits, advent candles and reception of new members

We also offer Confirmation classes.

Education committee meetings are generally scheduled on Saturday morning at 10:00 bimonthly.
