Posted  15th October 2000
UMW Sunday was celebrated on 15th January 1995.  Grace youth spent a day working on the DART House and gathered with other local church youth groups in a joint youth celebration.  FOCUS, a weekday Bible study and sharing group, continued to meet, and WOW, PATS, and CATS began a new session on Wednesday.  On Scout Sunday, the church recognized the 35 Scouts from Troop 59 who had earned their Eagle award.  Among those were Don and David McGehee, James Barker, Lawrence Higginbotham, Gary Rainey, Steve Napper, and Sam Pierce.  Over spring break, a brave group of adventurers went skiing.  Grace UMW sponsored a Quilt Show.  Proceeds went to missions.  A devotional written by Connie Cline was featured on 19th March in The Upper Room.

The April family night was a Mexican Fiesta, sponsored by the youth.  The Easter Sunrise Service was held at Lincoln Parish Park.  In April 1995, Philip Spottswood, Mission Society for United Methodist's missionary to Kazakstan, spoke at the morning services.  In May, Grace participated with all Louisiana Methodists in a special offering for the victims of the Oklahoma bombing.  On 28th May 1995, Ruby Nel Barker made a hole-in-one in Arcadia at a Grace Golf Scramble.  Members of the confirmation class included Jesse Davis, Wesley Lynch, R. D. Boydstun, and Amanda Snow.

At Annual Conference, the O'Dells were appointed to First UMC in Lafayette.  Grace welcomed Dwight, Gay, and David Ramsey as our new parsonage family.  Children's activities included VBS, Kingdom Kamp, skating, bowling, and swimming.  Youth enjoyed various activities on Wonderful Wednesday outings.  Sunday School classes joined in three nights of Dinner Delights.  Classes paired up and shared a covered dish meal in a home.  In August 1995, 23 Grace youth participated in Weekend of the Cross, a local mission work project.  In September 1995, a reorganized Friendship Club began meeting.  The group had activities and a meal.  FOCUS met for a fall session of Bible study.

In October 1995, Grace participated in sending "Operation Care Lift" packages to Russia.  The Community Thanksgiving Service was held at Grace.  Courtney McKinney and Joseph Hogg were born.  Advent activities included the Hanging of the Greens service, a live nativity, family night super, caroling, the Cantata "The First Noel," and the Candlelight and Communion Service.
