   A small group began the Trinity Bible Study New Testament series.  Mrs.  Fredna Akin lead the Sunday services for UMW Sunday.  The Methodist Men repaired the roof of a local home as a service project.  On Sunday, 9th March 1986, Doug Williams led a singing service.  This was his last Sunday with us before moving to Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  The youth joined the Homer UMYF group for a program and fellowship on 16th March.  The Easter Cantata was "The Third Day."  A Tenebrae Worship Service was held on Good Friday.  An Easter Sunrise Service was held outside the Church.  Chip Lowe provided special music.  The Louisiana Tech Wesley Foundation Deputation Team led the morning worship service on 13th April.  The Senior High Youth attended a retreat at Camp Alabama, and the Ruston Public High School Choir presented a concert of sacred music.

In May 1986, the Senior High Youth were in charge of the Evening Worship Service.  Among the Seniors recognized on 18th May were Abby McFadden and Tim Goss.  The Sweet Adelines provided the program for the Family Night Supper.  The Sanctuary committee visited churches in Alexandria, Shreveport, and Minden.

In June 1986, Grace and Christ Community Church joined forces for vacation bible school.  Money was collected for the upcoming Costa Rica Mission Project.  The UMW added a new twist to the Annual Picnic.  An arts and crafts auction was held featuring homemade crafts such as needlepoint, cross-stitch, country baskets, and an original painting by Rt. Rev. Henry Blount.  Not only was the event a big hit, but it raised $650 for missions.

Among the fourth graders receiving Bibles at Promotion Sunday were Ben McFadden and Emily Taylor.  Also in August, 1986, the Trustees considered a proposal from the state of Louisiana for the purchase of an additional five feet of right-of-way to four land US 167.  A preschool program for 3, 4, and 5 years olds was begun.  Susan Meriedth was the Director.  Rev. Ben Jones lead revival services beginning 21st September.  In October 1986, Rev. W. O. Lynch preached for a morning service, Wes Lynch showed slides of the Costa Rica Workcamp, and a fenced playground was built.  Rev. Tom Logan led the evening service and brought several special musical numbers on 2nd November.  Following the service a fish fry was held.  Proceeds from the meal went to the Youth Fund.

During the Advent Season, special Missions Calendars were used.  Other Advent activities included the Friendship Club Christmas Luncheon, a Jesus Birthday party for the children, and Christmas Cantata, "Repeat the Sounding Joy," and the Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion Service.
