The
Wesley Foundation Deputation Team lead the morning service on 24th
January
1971. Boy Scout Sunday was held on 7th February. Members of
the FCA led the service.
The 4th, 5th, and 6th grade
boys basketball
team went undefeated in the city league. Coaches were Charles
Killgore
and Amos Sexton. The members of the team were special guests at
the
March Methodist Men's breakfast.
The annual Chicken Spaghetti
supper raised
$370 for the youth. Grace hosted the community Holy Week services
on 5th through 9th April.
Mr. Claude Ruple was honoured
for outstanding
service to his church and was presented with a plaque. The Sunday
School celebrated the 4th of July with a joint meeting in the sanctuary
for a special program.
Grace joined with Wesley Chapel
for evening
services July 18th to kick off their revival. Rev. Leon Scott was
the preacher. The "Now Singers" from Benton, Arkansas, presented
the evening service on the 25th of July. Grace Youth presented an
evening service in August.
At its October meeting, the
Administrative
Board approved a request from the Police Jury to use the Grace
Fellowship
Hall as a voting precinct.
The Chancel Choir presented a
Cantata at the
morning service on December 12th, and the Ruston High School Choir
presented
their Christmas Cantata at the evening service. The annual
Christmas
family night supper was held on December 19th, and a candlelight
service
followed the meal.
