March 13 to 15 was the date of a Lay Witness Mission held at Grace.  There was much preparation and there were many prayers for this event.  The Witnesses were warmly received, and the weekend had an impact on lives at Grace that lasted for many years - even to this day.

Grace sponsored three boys teams in the city basketball league.  The coach of the Pioneer League team was Charles Killgore.  Coaches for the Ambassador League team were Steve Walker and Johnny Peoples.

At Annual Conference, Rev. Bengtson was appointed to First Church, Vidalia.  Appointed to Grace was Rev. W. O. Lynch, Jr., wife, Jeanne, and family, Wes, Libbi, Alicia, and David.
