Grace in 1964
Posted 27th February 2000
The theme of the mission study in February and March of 1964 was "The Christian Mission in Southeast Asia."

The Chancel Choir presented the Easter Cantata, "My Heart Is Glad" in April 1964.  Also in April 1964, the church began the "40 Days of Love" emphasis.  During this time church members made a special effort to let other members know of the appreciation and love that they had for them.  The program included writing letters, phone calls, prayer, and remembrances.  The program was well received..

In May 1964, the youth sponsored a Chicken Spaghetti supper.  In June 1964, the youth activities week included worship, discussion groups, and recreation.  The week ended with a trip to the Methodist Camp in Biloxi.

In July 1964, the Methodist Men hosted a father-son fish fry, and in August 1964, they sponsored a family night supper..

The church observed its fourteenth anniversary in September 1964 with returning Tech students as the special guests.

Rev. Henry Blount returned to Grace as the guest speaker at a family night supper held in December 1964.  The Chancel Choir and the Grace Notes choir joined in the Christmas Cantata, "Christmas Bells."  At the evening service, Bishop Walton spoke on his recent trip to Africa.
