Grace in 1960

   In February, 1960, special evening services were held highlighting the theme, "The Church and Medical Missions".  One of the speakers was Dr. Hal Barker.

In May, 1960, the congregation was treated to the sounds of the Millsaps Singers.  This 50 voice choir presented a service of sacred music.  They were on their way home from Denver, Colorado, where they had appeared before the General Conference.

June 1960 saw the appointment of Henry Blount to First Methodist Church in Opelousas.  Rev. George Ross cam to Grace from Caddo Heights in Bossier.

On the tenth anniversary of Grace, the church had grown to 500 members and a budget of $30,000.  Rev. Ross reminded the congregation the the lasting good of a church is measured in the lives that have been change and the souls that have been reached.

The guest evangelist for the revival services held in October 1960 was Rev. Lea Joyner.

Mrs. Esther Baker was WSCS president.

Folding doors were added to the Fellowship Hall to make more room for Sunday School classes.

The Senior MYF presented a Christmas play, "Was This The Christ Child?"  The Youth and Children's choirs presented a program of Christmas music at the evening service on 18th December.
