Though June was a little crazy for the youth groups and we weren’t able to do all we had planned, July gets back to our regular schedule with meetings every Friday night except July 4th. We hope everyone has a great time with their family and friends on July 4th as there will be no Youth Group.
Then on July 11th, we will really celebrate the Summer with our second camp out. We pray the weather will let us actually camp outside this time, though the basement did look pretty cool with six tents in it. We will gather between 5:30 and 6 p.m. on the 11th and again be finished by 9 a.m. on the 12th. Because we are in charge of worship on July 20th, we will be planning and practicing for worship during the campout. On the 18th, we will celebrate the end of Bible School with, appropriately, Jonah, continuing our VBS Beach Party theme at 6:00 p.m.. The 25th will find us outside again with all sorts of Games and Activities starting at 5:30 p.m.
August will see us ramping up for the school year with a Beach Party at Hammonasset on August 2 from noon to 5 p.m. and a weekend retreat at the church from Friday, August 15th through Sunday, August 17th. The retreat will focus on living out our faith and experiencing the presence of Christ in our everyday lives. We will conclude with our own worship in the basement in our p.j.’s. Come and get a great boost of the Spirit just before heading back into the craziness of the new school year. We will be back into our normal pattern of Friday night youth on August 22nd and 29th.
