Monthly Outreach Worship Services are held at Schooner Estates (second Tuesday at 10:30 am) and Clover Health Care and Living Center (third Wednesday at 2:00 pm) reaching out to folks who might otherwise be unable to get to church.
Annual Community Mission Project: For the past several years members and friends of our church have spent a weekend cleaning, repairing, decorating and furnishing several facilities which serve those in need in the Auburn and Lewiston area. Hard work and contributions of materials and money have resulted in improved living situations for many less fortunate members of our communities. These projects have also resulted in significant and meaningful rewards for those who have participated.
Thanksgiving Baskets and Giving Tree: For many years under the leadership and inspiration of Norma Rice-Gould and Pam MacDonald members of our church have provided Thanksgiving meals and Christmas gifts for the neediest of families in this area. This ministry would not be possible without the generous donations of those in our congregation.
Community Mission Projects in which members of our church actively participate include the Trinity Episcopal Church Soup Kitchen where several adults and youth assist in serving meals on a regular basis, and monthly offerings are taken for the purchase of milk; the High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry where food is collected and distributed on a weekly basis; and the Court Street Baptist Church clothing closet which is also open weekly to provide clothing and household goods at no charge to those in need. We support the Salem Economic Ministry in Strong, Maine as well as other United Methodist mission projects with our contributions to the New England Conference through our Mission Shares.
The Auburn Cancer Prayer and Support Group meets 6 to 7:30 pm on the third Monday of each month. The Group was started by some of us who believed that cancer patients want a place in their community to gather and share cancer experiences. We believed people need a place where prayer would be a part of the support and people could share openly how God was in the midst of their cancer journey. If you're looking for support during or after your involvement with cancer please join us.
Senior Citizens and Friends Luncheons, open to the community, provide fantastic food and wonderful musical entertainment on the third Tuesday of the month at 11:30 am from September - November and March - June. This is a great opportunity to meet your friends and share a good meal!
Coffee and Conversation Time is an opportunity to gather right after church each Sunday to catch up on the past week and to make visitors feel welcome.
Monthly Pot-Luck Luncheons immediately follow church on the fourth Sunday of each month. All are invited to meet old and new friends, and share good food and fellowship.
