COMMITTEES
GROWING IN FAITH THROUGH SERVICE
This information is provided to help you
understand how our church structures itself in order to provide ministry both
within the church and in the community. There are two major arms of the church:
Administration, coordinated by the ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD and Experiencing the
Faith, coordinated by the COUNCIL ON MINISTRIES.
EXPERIENCING THE FAITH
The Auburn United Methodist Church is committed to providing diverse
opportunities for its members to experience their Christian faith and to grow
in their relationship to God, to each other, and to the larger world around us.
The programs that help us achieve this are developed by the Council on
Ministries, the program arm of the church. The work of the Council is divided
into the work areas described below.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION Director: to provide
learning programs for all ages and including a variety of learning styles.
Reports
MISSIONS/SOCIAL CONCERNS: develops mission programs, special Lenten
Projects, and recommends a missions budget to the Finance Committee; also
develops programs to inform the church of important social issues.
EVANGELISM/OUTREACH: provides opportunities for our community to know
who we are; develops programs which enable new people to feel welcome, and
helps to make sure that all people feel that they are a part of our church
family.
