Well
done, and keep it up! Please take the time to visit the different Sunday School
classrooms on Sunday and take a look at the attendance chains. Every Sunday, each
child adds a link to his or her attendance chain, and it is a visual reminder
of how their faith grows every time they come to church. At the end of the
year, any child who attended EVERY Sunday this year will receive a special prize! However, if youre out of town for whatever
reason and cant come to church, go to church wherever you are and bring me a
bulletin as proof that you went, and that absence will not count against your
total. In addition, children who miss 3 or fewer Sundays will still be eligible
for an attendance award. If you have any questions about the attendance or the
Lords Prayer memorization awards, call or email me.
Please
mark one of the following dates on your calendar: January 20th and January 27th will be Sunday
School Picture Day, when we take pictures of all the Sunday School
Participants. We will take individual pictures of each child as well as class
pictures and pictures of the different groups, such as acolytes, youth choir,
and youth groups. We will make them into a Sunday School Yearbook to be
distributed in June. Make sure your child comes to church on one of those
Sundays so that everyone can be included!
I
am usually at church Tuesday-Friday from 9am until noon; and if you cant drop
in then, contact me and we can set up an appointment. Feel free to call me
(782-3972) or e-mail me (dce@auburnmethodist.org) with questions, concerns, or
to share ideas!
Looking
forward to a promising new year,
Ms.
Kary
SUNDAY
SCHOOL
Every Sunday, the children will come into church
with their parents; please feel free to select the age appropriate Childrens
Worship Bulletin for your child, available as you enter the sanctuary. The
bulletins have activities that center on a scripture reading from the days
worship service. After the Moments with the Children, they will go out for
their Sunday School classes. Please dont forget your offering when you go out
to Sunday School! We will continue to have families celebrate Holy Communion
together on the first Sunday of the month as well, attending Sunday School
classes after the conclusion of communion.
In January, the Sunday School theme is Parables. The
children will be learning about the parables of Jesus. Ask your child about
what he or she is learning in Sunday School; take a look at the leaflet that
goes with the lesson.
