Ministries
Children's Ministry
A very active and exciting group of children make being a part of our Children's
Ministry a blessing.
Cross Training Student Ministry
A vibrant and growing student ministry for grades 6-12.
United Methodist Women
These groups of women meet monthly to create supportive fellowship and expand the
concept of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
United Methodist Men
The men meet the first Sunday of each month at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall for
a hearty breakfest, fellowship and devotional.
Sojourners
Men and women 55 and older take part in regular activities and take trips.
Lay Shepherd Ministry
A ministry to provide international and continuous care and love to the membership
of First UMC. Each church family is placed under the care of a lay shepherd who is
committed to providing care for that family. The care can be summed up in the word
PACE - will Pray, be Available, make Contact, be an
Example.
Two or More Prayer Ministry
Teams that meet in the Robert Hudson Chapel during worship services to pray for God's
blessings on the services.
Pouring Ministry
A new ministry that involves knocking on doors and asking for permission to
pray for those in the house. The ministry goes out on Saturday morning each
month with a goal to reach every household in Tuscumbia.
Tape Ministry
A ministry that provides tapes of each of the Sunday services to shut-ins,
two-or-more prayer volunteers and others upon request. If you wish to request
a taped sermon, fill out a tape request form.
