Mission Emphasis Sunday

This Sunday (November 16) is Mission Emphasis Sunday. We will be having special services throughout the day on Sunday. This is especially exciting since planning for our Honduras Mission trip is in full swing. At the 8:30 and the 10:50 services Hurbert Harriman, President of World Gospel Mission will be speaking. In our evening service we will have Jerry Wallace of Shoals Sav-A-Life and Mark Mayfield of BMDMI both speaking to us. I personally am excited that Mark will be able to come back for a visit.

Our church has always been a faithful supporter of missions. We support many full and part time missionaries currently in the field. We also support many organizations that support missions. And we actively participate in missions both at home and abroad. i feel that one of the strongest measures of the health of the church is how mission minded a church is. Believe me, I have seen the mission mindedness of this church and it is healthy.

As an update, we have been assigned the village of Jesus de Otoro in the Province of Intibuca, Honduras. BMDMI has never sent a team to this village before. I feel it is quite an honor and a testament to our church and previous teams to be given a new village. Not a village no one has been to in a long time, but a village that has never had a BMDMI team at all.

What do we need? We covert your prayers. Pray for the village of Jesus de Otoro, that they will be receptive and willing to hear the Word of God. Pray for our team members and their families. And pray for the leaders of the team in the continued planning of this trip. Any financial gifts you can make would also be greatly appreciated. So far our budget is holding up, but there are still some needs we have. We also have room for a few more team members. All of the slots assigned to Talladega and Rogersville have not been used so they are available to any one from TFUMC. Please let me know ASAP if you feel like have an interest. To be honest we need some more willing servants. See you Sunday.

Sincerely,
Randy Davis
