Day School Graduation 2008
The Tuscumbia First United Methodist Church's Day School Graduation Service was held Sunday evening, May 18, 2008. Prior to receiving their certificate from Bro. Mike Pope, the nineteen children showed the congregation what they learned by reciting the alphabet, counting to 10 and counting to 100 by 10's.

Summer classes will be held on Wednesdays beginning June 4 through July 2 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

 

 

 

 

    WHO: Classes are available for children from 1 - 5 years (Pre-K)

    WHEN: The program runs September - May with an additional summer session of 6 weeks. 1-2 year olds meet on Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The 3-5 year olds meet on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

    WHERE: Third Street entrance to the First Methodist Church - Tuscumbia (corner of Third & Main)

    PURPOSE: to support families in their effort to provide an atmosphere conducive to meeting the mental, emotional and spiritual needs of young children.

    OBJECTIVE: that each child enrolled in the program will achieve educational, physical and spiritual objectives consistent with their developmental abilities. It is our objective to provide these opportunities in a loving, supportive, encouraging, Christian environment.

    CURRICULUM: to provide structured activities to develop skills and concepts in each of the following areas:

    • sense of self
    • motor development
    • language development
    • science
    • creative art
    • music
    • dramatic play
    • math
    • social skills
    • spiritual concepts

    Each class size varies with age.

    The curriculum will include the development of interesting units of study to widen the child(ren)'s view of his/her world.
