ANNOUNCEMENTS

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
UNIT MEETING
Laura Gautney Black will share with us in the Chapel on Tuesday, July 22 at 6:30 p.m. Since March of 2007 when Laura was diagnosed with cancer, we have been touched by her family's journey as we have read her journal entries. Laura's walk is a testimony of preservance and faith and we welcome her as she comes "home" to share with us.

Statement of Purpose

The organized unit of United Methodist Women Shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

We are organized to be in mission for women, children, and youth. When we know God and His love for us, then we can love each other and all persons throughout the world. To become a whole person, we must first recognize that all persons are equal in God's sight; the lowly, the least, the forgotten, the hungry, the homeless, the oppressed. A supportive fellowship exists when we are concerned for each other at all times, we celebrate joys and share sorrows. People are hurting all over the world. Help us, Lord to be willing to use our resources, gifts and talents for ALL your people. As we study and become more aware of the needs in the world, we recognize the responsibility to respond to the cries of the needy, the oppressed and those who have no voice of their own.

Invitation To Membership

If you are a new church member, first, we would like to say how happy we are that you have joined our church. We know it will prove to be a blessing to you and your family. Now, let us extend a personal invitation to become a part of our organization of United Methodist Women. This invitation is also sincerely extended to those of you who are not new church members, but have been unable to be a part of the UMW. We meet bi-monthly in January, March, May, July, September, and November at 2:30 P.M. in the Church Parlor. There, in addition to committee reports and other business, we share concerns for one another - illnesses, sorrows, and celebrations to be included in our prayers. It truly is a loving, caring group of women. Then the best part -- a wonderful, inspiring program. You always leave with much food for thought to ponder.

We also divide into circles which meet each month. Meeting times are as follows:

  • Circle #1 - 2nd Tuesday - 10:00 A.M.
  • Circle #2 - 2nd Tuesday - 10:00 A.M.
  • Circle #3 - 2nd Tuesday - 6:30 P.M.
  • Circle #4 - 2nd Monday - 7:00 P.M.
  • Circle #5 - 2nd Tuesday - 6:00 P.M.
  • Circle #6 - 2nd Tuesday - 6:30 P.M.
