Thank You TUMC Ladies for the Knitted Items

Many persons contributed to the lovely packages of knitted items sent to Mexican Medical Ministries (MMM) last month - we mailed two boxes:  54 hats, 14 vests, 13 scarves and one sweater - 82 items!   MMM couldn't have been more pleased when the package arrived.  Here is a copy of the e-mail received from Craig Libby, our contact.  Those of you who went on the Mexico trip two years ago will remember Craig as our faithful driver and companion during the entire trip.  Craig and his wife, Kristi, live in the San Diego area with their two children, and met while serving with MMM.

Thank you so much for sending in the knitted items.  They are great.  I have been down to La Esperanza the past 10 days.  We had a wonderful ministry at the little camp that your team went to as well as another little camp fairly close to the other one.  I told Theresa that the items were coming and she’s excited to get them.  I’ve put them in the next pile of supplies to go to La Esperanza.  Because they are so nice, we’ll not hand them out directly at the camps but rather hand them out individually at the dental station of the clinic where we give them to the children of the patients that come in and give them something special.  We have two dental teams lined up in the next month.   We will be sending you a thank you note as well as a donation receipt from the office.  I thank you for your commitment to this ministry and can state from last week’s experience how appreciative the families are to receive the hats.  It was quite cold in the evenings there last week.
