FIND YOUR SHAPE FOR LENT
SPIRITUAL GIFTS EMPHASIS, Lent 2010. We will be having an All Church Lenten emphasis on Spiritual Gifts for Ministry or what some have called Motivational Gifts. All the preaching, small groups, and Kid Konnection will be discovering our personal gifts and look at where God is asking us to use these gifts in our own lives, our families, at work and in the church.

I ASKED GOD
I asked God to take away my pain. God said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, No. Her spirit was whole her body only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience. God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations, it isn’t granted, it is earned.
I asked God to give me happiness. God said, No. I give you blessing. Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life, God said, No. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.
I asked God to help me to LOVE others, as much as he loves me. God said . . . Ahh, finally you have the idea.
PRAY FOR AN END TO ABORTION
40 DAYS FOR LIFE, is a special time set aside to pray for an end to abortion, and to call upon local, state and national leaders to protect all human life. THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible - Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the chapter.
Little Rick was excited about the task - but he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line.
On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Ricky was so nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly,
'The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's all I need to know.

IN YOUR QUIET TIMES
As you meditate on the price Jesus paid to give you access to the Father, you will come to treasure your prayer times with Him. Worship will become a privilege you seize with gratitude. Scripture will be dear to you as you strive to be holy in all that you do (2 Cor. 7:1; 1 Pet 1:15)
If you have lost your wonder at the incredible gift of salvation that has been given to you, you need to revisit the cross and witness your Savior suffering for you. How priceless God’s gift of salvation is!
