*******************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Commitment Sunday is November 15 and will be observed in both worship services.  You are invited to continue praying for Trinity Church and how you can financially support the work of the church through its ministries and missions.  Let us pray:  God, you know what we don’t even know.  We don’t know where every dime went, but somehow you know what we did with all that we had, last year and the year before that.  You don’t forbid us from having joy in our possessions.  In fact, you delight in having joy for us.  But what you know is that just acquiring more and more stuff isn’t where we find joy.  Lord, forgive us for being wasteful, for not sharing our blessings with others.  Help us to be better managers of the talents that you’ve give to us.  Help us to be generous and willing to share, kingdom-minded and focused.  Amen

TRINITY’S HEALTH CABINET

What is the “Health Cabinet”?  This is the name by which you will come to know those in our congregation who are forming a program to help YOU.

Betsy Buchanan and Donna Taylor attended the Congregational Health Promoter Training at CMC-NorthEast.  The purpose of this training is to enhance the health and well-being of the parishioners in the church, to support their physical, emotional and spiritual needs and to empower them to care for themselves and live life abundantly.  This ministry teaches parishioners to focus on the body, mind and the spirit.  It also brings healthcare information and a variety of wellness resources to parishioners as well as connects them to existing community services.  It can help identify problems and chronic diseases, coordinate screening tests in the community and provide educational programs to support the health needs of the parish.

We are very interested in starting this program at Trinity.  It is suggested that each member of the church fill out a survey so that the physical, emotional and spiritual needs can be identified.  After the surveys are completed and results compiled, then the Congregational Health Promoters can begin to plan programs and meet the individual needs of our congregation.

Anyone interested in participating in the program or learning more about should contact Donna or Betsy.

Operation Christmas Child

REMEMBER Samaritan’s Purse Shoeboxes must be returned by Nov. 20.  We are out of “official” boxes, but you may purchase a plastic shoebox for $1 and follow the same instructions for filling and shipping.  Instruction sheets are available in the Narthex, stage room or from the church office.  Boxes collected will be delivered to the processing center on Saturday, December 12 when we go to work at the processing center.  AND REMEMBER to sign up if you wish to work on the 12th.  There are only 25 spaces for volunteers.  Children must be 13 or older to participate.  This is a great way for families to prepare for the birthday of Christ in helping to bring joy to a person’s life who might otherwise go without.

SAMARITAN’S TABLE will be hosted by Trinity the first three weeks in December.  Start thinking NOW when your class or group of individuals would like to help.

*******************************************************************************************************************************************************************

God's Supper Table - Everyone is invited to share in the ministry of God's Supper Table on Wednesday nights by either volunteering to prepare and serve the meal, or by coming to God's Supper Table and sharing in the meal and the fellowship.  Church members are asked to call Judy Coggins on Monday for a reservation ($4 per person) so adequate food is prepared.  Volunteer sign-up sheet for August is posted in the hall by the parlor.  Just like Samaritan's Table, it takes 4 to 5 people to prepare and serve the meal.  Also like Samaritan's Table, small groups, Sunday School classes, and individuals can sign up to be a part of this ministry.  Even those who are not part of our congregation can participate if they fell the call.  You are urged to sign up early for the date you wish to volunteer.  You will find on the sign up sheets suggested menus for each Wednesday.  If you have any questions, talk to a member of the Outreach Team.

Girl Scout troop 1163 is accepting new members who are in the 2nd grade or older.   If you have a daughter who would like to join the Girl Scouts, please contact Andrea Buchanan.

PRE-SCHOOL NOTES

We have had a great start to pre-school.  The children are excited to see their teachers each day.  Some have even been sad to leave pre-school at day’s end!

Our pre-k teachers would appreciate your help.  Items listed are those we use often and which we would love to have an on-going supply on hand.  You will see that most are for health/safety needs.  Thank you in advance for your support of our efforts to provide a good environment for our children.  Needed are: Clorox wipes, Lysol disinfectant spray, disposable gloves, Kleenex, liquid soap refills, liquid hand sanitizer, double-sided tape.

*******************************************************************************************************************************************************************

CCM needs for the month:  Requests for assistance from all the CCM food pantry locations continues to be great.  Please remember to pick up a couple of items for our food barrel each time you grocery shop.  In addition to the listed food items, always also needed are hygiene products, paper products,  cleaning products and plastic grocery bags to use for food distribution.  Needed items include:  Soup, macaroni and cheese, any canned vegetable, tuna, peanut butter (18 or 28 oz), paper towels, and toilet tissue.
