NEWS: Prison/Jail Ministry
One again the grace of the Lord has worked through our church. The Committees
on Church and Society and on Evangelism of our church in cooperation with
the Bureau of Jaim Management and Penology is reaching out to 35 inmates.
This undertaking started in July this year.
A Bible class was established with generally
young inmates. They are a group of young and active people cought up in
the midst of sinfulness of the outside world. Within the confines of the
prison walls, feelings of loneliness and hopelessness could be seen in
their eyes.
Providentially, with the immersion of groups
like ours, they have found a refuge from their wearying burden. Last September
25, following the conclusion of the bible class, 13 inmates requested
for baptism. Seven members of the committees who were there stood as sponsors.
We wish to offer you an opportunity to be a
part of this wonderful experience of sharing. Our plan is to have a gift-giving
activity on December 23. Let us make them feel we care and that the love
of God overflows to them through us.
