Thank you for your wonderful response to my request for sermon topics. A few weeks ago I ask for your suggestions of topics and/or scriptural texts for sermons for the months of September and October. I have received eighteen suggestions as of this morning. Because there are only nine Sundays in these two months, I have decided to extend this into November. So in the next three months I will be preaching on a variety of scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments.

Allow me to list a few of the suggested sermon topics. We will take a look at the book of Daniel and the concept of “End Times”. It may not be what you have heard in the past.  We will also examine the interesting parable of “The Dishonest Manager” found in the Gospel of Luke. Is there an “Unforgiveable Sin”? That will be the topic for one sermon along with “Faith and Healing”. Another individual asked that we look at how Christians should respond to Islam and just who are the “People of Faith”

During these fall months, we will also look at the Biblical concept of tithing and Christian holiness. The beautiful “Servant Song” found in Isaiah 53 will be one of our topics as well. Another person suggested I preach on how women have been viewed in the Bible and throughout the history of the Christian church. Can I cover that in one sermon?

Finally, we will look at the first two chapters in the book of Ecclestastes, the Harry Potter books, the “Plan of Salvation”, the Apostles’ Creed, and ‘Faith and Healing”.

As you can see, we may be in for an interesting journey the next three months. I invite you to be present on these Sundays and ask for your prayers in my preparations.

A footnote:  I apologize to the two people who suggested I preach on “Football 101” and the alleged recruiting violations of Roy Williams.
