The
people of Trinity United Methodist Church greet you in the name of Jesus
Christ. E Komo Mai in the Hawaiian language means "Welcome, and come in."
Our church sits at the crossroad Waimano Home Road and Komo Mai Drive.
Indeed, you are most welcome to come and worship with us. We are a little
church that looks quite ordinary on the outside. Our building is not grand
and we bo not have a steeple. Yet, should you come through our doors, you
will be greeted by an array of gentle and friendly people. Coming from
many ethnic backgrounds this church, in the tradition of all United Methodist
churches, has open hearts, open minds and open doors.
The vision of our church comes
from the words of Jesus Christ who quoted the ancient teaching of Deuteronomy
6:4, "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one and you shall love
the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with
all your strength." Then Jesus radically added to this lesson with a command
of social significance. In the Gospel according to Mark 12:31 Jesus adds,
"You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Faith no longer is just vertical
of one's being in relationship to God. Now, like the very cross upon which
Jesus was crucified, faith is also horizontal; self to others. Thus, Trinity
United Methodist Church's vision is: LOVE GOD, LOVE NEIGHBOR, REACH OUT.
Active is spiritual formation,
missional outreach and social justice we reach out to you in sincere welcome
to worship the Lord with us.
Blessings of the Lord, Jesus
Christ be with you.
Shalom
