The people who worship at the Trinity United
Methodist Church come from all walks of life. We're farmers, doctors, bank
executives, retirees, homemakers, carpenters, factory workers, schoolteachers,
truck drivers, and more. Although we have different backgrounds, we enjoy
coming
together each Sunday and visiting with one another, and fellowship is one of the
hallmarks of our church.
Some members of our congregation have been coming to the Trinity United Methodist Church for years. Others have been attending our church a short time. No matter who you are, you can count on getting a warm welcome if you visit our church. Our small-town congregation treats strangers like family.
Our pastors are the Reverend Robert McQueen, Senior
Pastor, and
the Reverend James McQueen, retired elder now serving as the Associate
Pastor. Are they related? Yes.
Reverend Robert (Bob) McQueen began his ministry in front of the Mountain Grove Administrative Council as they affirmed him as called to the ministry. That was 19 years ago. Since then, he attended and graduated from Southwest Missouri State University, Saint Paul School of Theology, and has served 5 pastorates and now has been sent home to serve.
Reverend James McQueen is Reverend Bob McQueen's father and a retired Elder from the former Missouri West Conference of the United Methodist Church. James retired while serving the Trinity United Methodist Church in Mountain Grove, Missouri, he served there 13 years and retired with 41 years service in 1991.
When Reverend Bob McQueen was sent to Mountain Grove, he asked his father James if he'd like to serve with him part time. The answer was yes and it is an exciting time in our church today.
