Everything
a hunger fighter
needs to know to Walk in the
2005 Greater Charlotte Crop Walk

|
Each fall our church takes part in the Crop Walk for Hunger. The walk will begin at Memorial
Stadium taking you on a route through uptown/downtown Charlotte to Johnson C. Smith University then
back to Memorial Stadium. Our goal this year is to have at least 60 walkers.
| Sixty people from Trinity joined the Charlotte
Crop Walk last October. Over $4,400.00 was collected for World
Hunger! Prior to the walk, the Outreach Committee served a "Soup and
Sandwich" lunch and cleared $257.00 to divide between the Food Bank
and Trinity's Family Life Center Fund. |
Local funds go to Crisis Assistance Ministry, Loaves & Fishes and Second Harvest Food Bank.

WHAT EACH WALKER MUST DO
| BEFORE YOU WALK: |
Get sponsors! Relatives, friends, neighbors, school and business associates -
anyone who will agree to pay any amount for your walking. Think BIG; our
goal is for each walker to raise $80.00. Commit yourself to ONE HOUR of
asking people to sponsor you. People want to help - but they need YOU
to ask! Please collect money as it is pledged. |
| INSURANCE WAIVER: |
Sign the insurance waiver on the front of the Sponsor Record Form. |
| REGISTRATION: |
Register by filling out ALL the information on the Sponsor Record Form
and turning in the top sheet of the form to your recruiter. If you do
not have a recruiter, turn in the top sheet at the registration tables
before the walk. |
| ON OCTOBER 16th: |
WALK! This is a viable witness to the entire community that you care
about hungry people. Please bring a can of food for Loaves & Fishes.
Remember: No Recreational Wheels!
No Pets! |
| AFTER THE WALK: |
Collect the pledges not received before the walk. The sooner you collect
them, the easier it is! When you have collected all your pledges,
return the envelope (money inside) to your recruiter. If you have no
recruiter, turn the envelope in to the CROPWALK office. |
| QUESTIONS: |
Call your recruiter or the CWS/Charlotte CROPWALK office at 333-WALK.
Office located at: St. John's Baptist Church, 300 Hawthorne Lane. |
