Our Church and Community is
included in the Windmill Emmaus Community
(WEC), which elected its first Board of Directors in 1992 and has blossomed ever
since! The WEC includes Live Oak, Karnes and Bee Counties in the Brush Country of
South Texas. Prior to growing enough to start our own community, we were part of the
Coastal Bend Emmaus Community which is based in Corpus Christi, Texas.
In the past seven years, many of our congregation's members have attended Emmaus Walks
with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Almost all of our Church Committee chairs
have been on Walks. Many of them became leaders in the Church following the weekend.
Our WEC Gatherings rotate throughout the three counties with overflowing crowds attending
each month at a different town and Church where the food, fellowship and spiritual renewal
are always awesome!
We have Church members active in several Emmaus Reunion Groups where they are held to the
highest loving standard possible to make sure each member stretches to become a Disciple
of Jesus Christ.
