Youth & Missions
Youth Director - Michael Barrett

Youth Group - "The Lighthouse"
1st Timothy 4:12 states, "Don't let anyone look down on you because
you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love,
in faith and in purity."

What exactly does 1st Timothy 4:12 mean? It means that youth are to live a life in a manner that shows they are capable of being a leader and disciple of Christ. Being a good Christian is not based on our age. It is based on our faith in action. And, that is exactly what the Trenton First UMC youth group tries to show - faith in action!

YOU ARE INVITED! All youth grades 6th - 12th are invited to learn about Christ and enjoy Christian fellowship with other youth on Wednesday nights. Our Junior High meets from 7:00-7:50 p.m. The Senior High joins the Junior High from 7:50-8:10 p.m., for a snack supper. Our Senior High then meets from 8:10-9:00 p.m. We learn about Christ's life and how we can apply His teachings to our everyday lives. Please join us!

Missions

Mission work is part of our responsibility as a Christian. And the youth take their responsibility very seriously. Each year, the youth group choose a mission location as part of their goal to reach out to those in need. The past couple of years, and for 2005, the youth group has chosen to be a part of Group Work Camps. An strong Christian organization that arranges Mission Camps all over the world, helping thousands of people. The youth meet new people, experience different cultures and life styles and share their faith with other youth and other communities. The work is hard but the reward is priceless.

2005 Mission Trip - The Senior High will be going to Florence, Colorado in June of 2005! They will join approximately 300 other Senior High youth for a week of hard labor (construction work, roofing, painting, etc.) mixed with some fun and fellowship.

Luke 10:2-3 "He told them the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
